We have been delighted to have been involved in a number of projects at The National Gallery. The latest of which is the reinstatement of a 5 metre high marble doorway leading into one of the exhibition galleries.

The irreplaceable marble surround had been store within the walls when the doorway was closed off in the 1950’s. The extent of the marble and it’s condition was completely unknown until it had been fully extracted.

To achieve this an extensive scaffold frame and running beams was installed to carefully lift each section out, the heaviest of which was the 1 tonne soffit stone.
